Monte Alban Gold Mask Pendant "Xipe Totec" Oaxaca Tomb Mexico Aztec 14K Necklace
The Monte Alban gold masks were artifacts found in the Oaxaca tomb. The Monte Alban is an ancient site active during the pre-Aztec periods and a very important and historic discovery in Mexico. The gold mask is the mask of "God Xipe Totec" (Our Lord the Flayed One). The tribe is referred to as "Mixtec" (middle American Indian). The Mixtec possessed a high degree of civilization in Aztec and pre-Aztec times. The cool thing about the mask is that he has a nose ring and the ring is actually a separate piece that has movement! So incredibly detail oriented!
